In compliance with P.A. 56 of 2012, formerly known as SB 778, the Gerrish Township Police have been delegated the responsibility of the local entity dock permitting process referred to P.A. 56 of 2012. All permits will be handled by Chief Hill or Sgt. Patchin and at this time, no permit fees will be charged to obtain a permit.  All permits issued will expire November 1, of the given year of the permit. The Township requires that the Township be named as an additional insured and proof of that will be necessary at time of securing the permit. The permit language is contained in the statute. Failure to secure the permit becomes a violation of the statute.  The Police Department began permitting April 10, 2012.

Gypsy Moth suppression spray season will be held in May and June 2012.  Exact spray dates

for Gerrish  Township will be determined at a later date.  A map outlining the exact spray block

locations can be viewed at the Gerrish Township Municipal Center.
