ANTI-NOISE ORDINANCE

The Gerrish Township Anti-Noise Ordinance prohibits a person to make, continue, or cause to be made or continued any excessive, unnecessary, or unusually loud noise, or any noise which either annoys, disturbs, injures, or endangers the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of others within the Township.  The following acts, among others, are declared to be loud, disturbing, injurious, unnecessary and unlawful noises in violation of this Ordinance if continued for an extended length of time.

 ·          Horns & signal devices

·          Radio, phonograph, musical instruments

·          Shouting & whistling

·          Hawking

·          Animal & bird noises

·          Whistle or siren

·          Engine exhaust

·          Construction noises

·          Handling merchandise

·          Devices to attract attention

·          Internal combustion engines

 The following are EXCEPTIONS to this Ordinance.

 ·          Emergency vehicles

·          Highway & utility maintenance & construction

·          Public address

·          Sacred music

·          Snow removal
