GERRISH TOWNSHIP PARK ORDINANCE

The purpose of this ordinance is to provide rules and regulations for the use of and conduct in Gerrish Township Park.

 It shall be unlawful for any person in the Gerrish Township Park to:

·          Mark, deface, tamper with, or remove any structures or equipment from the park property.

·          Throw, discharge, or place in the waters of Higgins Lake any substance that may result in pollution of the lake.

·          Take into Gerrish Township Park any refuse, rubbish, or garbage.  Refuse from the Park shall be deposited in receptacles provided.

·          Bring any glass container into the park area.  This shall NOT apply to suntan oils or lotions that are brought on the beach in a handbag or satchel.

·          Bring any animal into or have one present in the Gerrish Township Park.  In designated area only at the Community Park.

·          Drive any vehicle on any area except the park roads and/or parking areas.

·          Leave a vehicle parked in the parking areas during hours when the park is closed.

·          Wash any vehicle.

·          For any person to have in their possession a pistol, revolver, or objects upon which loaded or blank cartridges may be used.

·          To kindle, build, maintain or use a fire except for the use of charcoal or wood fires in grills for cooking in the provided picnic area.

.  Drink or use in the park any alcoholic beverage.

·          Bring into a Park, possess, drink, or use controlled substances on the premises.

·          Camp or stay in a Park after posted closing hours.

·          No person shall be in a Park during the hours the  park is closed. 

 Anyone in violation of this Ordinance may be issued a civil infraction violation (ticket) immediately.  The first offense is subject to a civil fine of not less than $50.00, first repeat offense not less than $125.00, second repeat offense of not less than $250.00, third repeat, or any subsequent repeat offense, not less than $400.00 each.
