Recycle
Remember the three R’s...Reduce your usage when possible; Reuse items when possible; and then Recycle.
The Township recycle bins have been delivered to the west side of the Police parking lot. The site is currently open all the time. Keep the area clean so that we can continue with these open hours. . . it is up to you!
All items need to be rinsed before depositing into the recycle bins. Help save your tax dollars - if the items are not rinsed, the entire bin is said to be 'contaminated'. The Township must then pay disposal costs per pound!
Acceptable recycle items are:
aluminum/tin (food containers) Consider crushing. glass (jars & bottles) paper products (bags, catalogs, corrugated cardboard, office paper, magazines, & newspaper) plastics (#1 & #2). Consider crushing. (Note: If it does not have a 'neck' that you can hold the plastic item (yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.) then it is NOT recyclable.
Household batteries and e-waste may be dropped off in the Township Hall.
Unwanted Cell phones are accepted by the Police Department for donation to River House (or dropped off at the Township Hall). Call 989-821-5207 for information.
Motor Oil—Urbach’s Auto, W & W Auto or S & J Auto on Old 27.
