Are you interested in Recycling?  Gerrish Township offers recycling bins to its residents.  They are located behind the police station and are open 24 hours, 7 days a week.  Please be considerate in your usage and adhere to the following guidelines:

                                                        1.  Rinse all containers before depositing

                                                        2.  Consider crushing al cardboard, plastics and aluminum containers

                                                        3.  Place correct items in correct bins

This will allow us to reduce costs associated with recycling. 

 

Acceptable recycle items are:

 

aluminum/tin (food containers) 

glass (jars & bottles)

paper products (bags, catalogs, corrugated cardboard, office paper, magazines, & newspaper)

plastics (#1 & #2). 

 

  THE NEXT HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION IS September 11, 2010

 

Remember the three R’s...Reduce your usage when possible; Reuse items when possible; and then Recycle.

 

 

Household batteries and e-waste may be dropped off in the Township Hall during regular business hours.

 

Unwanted Cell phones are accepted by the Police Department for donation to River House.  Call 989-821-5207 for information.
